The community conversation

Connect, learn and share through the SF Connects community.

Questions about parenting, youth work, social work or mentoring rarely have value-free, context-free answers. The SF Connects community brings together people who support children, young people and families so they can ask thoughtful questions, hear different perspectives and find practical ideas they can adapt responsibly.

Who the community is for

A space shaped around who's in it.

Parents and carers, young people — where the space is designed and safeguarded for them — youth workers, social workers, mentors, coaches, family-support practitioners, service leaders, commissioners and community organisations. Each event or discussion clearly states its intended audience.

Community standards

Be curious and respectful when experiences differ. Do not share names, case details or information that could identify a child, young person or family. Do not use the community for crisis support, case decisions, legal advice or clinical advice. Follow your professional and safeguarding procedures when a concern requires action.

Why connection matters

Connection supports the work — it doesn't replace it.

A community cannot replace professional or emergency help, but thoughtful connection can support learning, reduce professional or parental isolation and make useful resources easier to find.
