Support for parents, professionals and services
Start with the support you need.
You do not need to know the name of a tool before you begin. Choose the route closest to your situation and SF Connects will help you find relevant practical resources, books, workshops, community conversations and further guidance.
Five ways to begin
Choose the situation closest to yours.
01
For a conversation that feels difficult
Find plain-language prompts and activities for talking about feelings, relationships, behaviour, identity, worries, loss, belonging or change. Use them to slow the conversation down, listen carefully and agree what should happen next.
02
For a session that needs structure
Find adaptable youth work, social work, mentoring and coaching activities with a clear purpose. Select resources by age, setting, subject and format, then check the guidance before use.
03
For a family adapting to change
Explore resources for routines, communication, changing family roles, moving between cultures and helping children prepare for unfamiliar expectations. Migration and family life is one specialist part of the wider SF Connects offer.
04
For a team or service
Discuss workshops, books, practical tools and learning packages that respond to workforce needs. Commissioners and organisations can begin with the people they support, the practice challenge and the change they want staff to make.
05
For connection and continued learning
Join community conversations, events and the newsletter to hear different perspectives, share useful approaches and find new resources. Never share details that could identify a child, young person or family.
